1.0 Nitro Conduct of Competition (Taken Directly from the Nitro Rules and Regulations Page):
- 1.1: The Nitro Xbox Racing League strives for fair and competitive racing. We expect competitors in any Nitro Series to race with a professional mindset. Racing on track should be fair, with the right amount of give and take being used at the right time. While we understand that incidents will occur, we expect every competitor to act in a mature manner and handle these situations professionally.
- 1.1.1: If incidents are deemed to be intentional or breaking Nitro’s Conduct of Competition, Nitro Officials will use as much information given to them to decide on a penalty (listed in Section 7.0).
- 1.1.2: Verbal arguments will not be tolerated during or after races.
- 1.2: Every competitor has in some way, shape or form, taken time out of their schedule dedicating it towards participating in Nitro. Therefore, we, as Nitro Owners, Officials, and Competitors, take Nitro seriously. We expect every driver to keep their language and content mature, during and outside of a racing event.
- 1.2.1: Failure to bring appropriate language and/or content into the league will result in penalties (listed in Section 7.0).
- 1.2.2: Immature/offensive content which include but do not limit to pictures, photoshop edits, gamerpics, profile pics, gamertags, and/or messages towards another driver (during and/or outside of a racing event) is prohibited and will result in severe penalties (listed in Section 7.0).
2.0 Qualifying:
- 2.1: Qualifying for the Nitro Bathurst 250 will consist of:
- 1 Warm-Up Lap
- 5 Flying Laps
- 1 Cool-Down Lap
- 2.2: All competitors will be on the track at the same time to qualify, but all cars will remain ‘ghosted’ so no drivers can impede another drivers lap time.
- 2.3: Dirty Laps, as indicated by Forza, WILL NOT COUNT! To ensure your next flying lap will count after receiving a Dirty Lap, do not cut the track during Sector 4.
- 2.3.1: Sector 4 Starts part-way down the Conrod Straight, just after Forrest’s Elbow.
- 2.4: Once drivers have completed their 5 flying laps, drivers are asked to stop in Turn 1 (Hell Corner) to wait for the rest of the field. At this point, Race Officials will gather lap times from each driver via the pause menu or by asking drivers.
- 2.5: Drivers who could not complete qualifying with a single clean lap will line up behind the drivers who scored clean laps.
- 2.5.1: To ensure you at least score a lap time relevant to the rest of the field, it is strongly suggested to ‘dirty’ your lap within Sectors 1, 2 and/or 3 on the Warm-Up Lap.
- 2.6: Drivers are allowed to make pit stops during qualifying.
- 2.7: Once the starting order has been determined, drivers may then proceed to complete the session to receive Forza credits.
- 3.0: The Nitro Bathurst 250 will consist of:
- 1 Warm-Up Lap
- A Standing Start
- 40 Racing Laps
- 1 Cool Down Lap
- 3.1 Warm-Up Lap: Once drivers load onto the track, competitors will be asked to start pacing in a single file line between 50-80 mph to warm up tires.
- 3.1.1: Drivers must give at least 2 car lengths of clearance behind the car in front.
- 3.1.2: Quick Accelerating and Braking will not be tolerated to warm tires up. Doing so will result in a EOL (End of Line) Penalty.
- 3.2 Standing Start:
- 3.2.1: Drivers will grid up within the grid slots on the front stretch where they spawned onto the track.
- 3.2.2: Drivers are allowed to leave the car’s front splitter overhang the front line of the box, but the front tires must NOT touch the front of the box.
- 3.2.3: Once all drivers are stationary in their grid slot, Race Officials will then determine a time on the Race Time Clock to start the event. Occasional countdowns such as “10 Seconds (to go)” may be given to prepare drivers.
- Example: “Race will begin at 5:20.000 on the Race Time”, “10 Seconds”
- 3.3 The Event:
- 3.3.1: The event will be 40 laps in length.
- 3.3.2: Due to the pace lap:
- White Flag will begin when the leader crosses the line on lap 41
- Checkered Flag will show when the leader crosses the line on lap 42
- 3.3.2.1: The session will be 43 laps in length to allow for the cool downlap.
- 3.3.3: There will be NO Overtime or G/W/C attempts.
- 3.3.4: The race will end under the green flag.
- 3.3.5: During the Cool Down Lap, drivers will patiently wait along the Mountain Straight for drivers to complete the Final lap. Drivers a lap down will not be allowed to complete another lap afterwards. Once the finishing order is received by Race officials, drivers may then proceed to complete the session to receive Forza credits.
- 4.1: A Safety Car will consist of 2 drivers that make contact, which results in either 1, both or multiple drivers, who spin(s) perpendicular to the direction of racing, stopped on track, and/or results in at least 1 car receiving damage.
- Examples:
- A T-Bone Incident where one driver gets turned head-on into the wall and the driver behind gets collected will be a Safety Car.
- An Incident where one driver gets shoved/turned off the track by another driver, sent into the wall/sand trap, and receives car damage will be a Safety Car.
- 2 drivers make contact and 1, both or more drivers spin in the same incident on track will be a Safety Car.
- A GOOD GOD ALMIGHTY DAMN THEY’RE PILING THE F*** IN (-Travis Brown 2021) will be a Safety Car.
- Examples:
- 4.2: Once a Safety Car has been determined, the leader will be asked to slow down to a pace speed between 50-70 mph. Drivers must catch the leader at a reduced race pace (preferably 75% of their race pace) and line up in the Safety Car Queue.
- 4.3: Pit Road will be closed until Race Officials deem that at least 50% of the field is caught up to the Safety Car Queue.
- 4.4: Drivers who are 1 or more laps down may take the wave around under the Safety Car, however, will not be allowed to make a pit stop under the Safety Car period.
- 4.5: Safety Cars will not be called once the leader reaches 3 laps to go (lap 39).
- 5.1: Restarts will be Single File
- 5.2: Restarts will be official once at least 75% of the field is caught up to the Safety Car Queue.
- 5.3: The leader can restart the event anywhere between the Armor All Bridge (after The Chase) thru the Supercheap Auto Bridge (on Front Straight after Murry’s Corner)
- 5.3.1: In case of a Safety Car Driver present for the event, the safety car will begin it’s in-lap at the Fujitsu Air Conditioning Bridge on the Conrod Straight, prior to The Chase, and will park in Murry’s Corner.
- 5.4: Pit Road will be closed during the Restart period and will open the following lap.
- 6.1: Do not drive backwards on the track.
- 6.2: In the event that a driver(s) gets disconnected from the race during the warm-up lap, we will back out from the session and attempt to re-invite said individuals back into the event. We will only do this a max of 1 time.
- 6.3 Tune: The following tunes must be used during the event:
- 2017 #22 Walkinshaw VF Commodore: Nitro Holden 2.1
- 2017 #17 Shell V-Power Falcon FG X: Nitro Ford 2.0
