Grand Prix Rules and Regulations
Qualifying:
A single short qualifying session will determine the starting order for the race.
Penalties:
We are running with Rules and Flags on with corner cutting being set to normal. These settings will not change for any track and will be the same everywhere we go.
If you receive a time penalty from the game you cannot appeal the penalty, unless this is evidence of the game glitching out, you were avoiding a wreck, or you were straight up forced off the track by another driver. Note that there is a time limit of 72 hours after the conclusion of the race to make an inquiry.
You cannot run other drivers off track. We at NITRO believe if you have an established position with another driver you are there, and must be respected. If you run them off track in any way, you must give the position back to the driver forced off. If the driver forced off gets a time penalty, it is possible for their time penalty to be moved to you.
There will be no team changes for full time drivers. Whatever car you chose in the first round of the championship is your car for the season. Any time you change teams (from one to another, not retiring or expulsion from the league), a 10 point penalty will be awarded.
The stewards have a variety of penalties that may be applied to punish drivers if a rule has been broken, depending on the severity of the violation. The available penalties are sorted below, in order of severity. Breaking a rule also leads to penalty points being added to your name - see further down for more details.
● 5-second time penalty
● 10-second time penalty
● Qualifying ban for the next race (will usually be applied in place of a time penalty if the driver did not finish the race)
● Disqualification from the race
● One-race ban
● Multiple-race ban
Any penalties will be aimed at the person who has done wrong - we cannot compensate anyone else as a result of someone's actions.
Disconnections:
Lobbies will be set to “Friends only” meaning you have the choice to join back into the race if you get disconnected.
If half, or more, of the drivers in a race disconnect at the same time, or over a short period of time, that counts as a mass disconnection.
If less than 50% of the race was completed at the time of the mass disconnection, the race will be restarted immediately, preferably with a new lobby host. If several drivers are unable to restart the race at that time, the race will be rescheduled for a later date.
If more than 50% (More than 50% but less than 90%) of the race was completed at the time of the mass disconnections, the race run to the finish.
Points System and Rules:
1st - 25 pts
2nd - 18 pts
3rd - 15 pts
4th - 12 pts
5th - 10 pts
6th - 8 pts
7th - 6 pts
8th - 4 pts
9th - 2 pts
10th - 1 pt.
11th-20th - 0 pts

In the case of a driver not finishing the race but finishes in the points they will be awarded full points
Drivers that are disqualified from the race, will not receive any points. The only way to be disqualified by the game during the race is by cutting to many corners or doing something wrong that would constitute the game disqualifying you. If you are disqualified during a race, a penalty inquiry cannot be made due to not knowing where you would have finished if you continued racing.
Drivers and Constructors are ranked in the standings based on how many points they've scored over the course of the season.
If two or more drivers or constructors are tied on points, the higher place in the Championship shall be awarded to the holder of most first places. If the number of first places is the same, the holder of most second places, then third places, and so on until a winner emerges.
The league owner or host may push the race back a few minutes while waiting for a driver to get online.
Misc. and other Rules:
Team picking for the following season will be before the first race. The picking order will be decided by the pervious season’s final standings.
